Bursa Hotel Architecture

Architecture Balbek Bureau

Bursa is a mix of two new structures and two 19th-century buildings that mirror the charm and bohemian spirit of Podil.

The older part of the hotel was home to architect Andriy Melenskyi, who helped shape the look of the Podil district in the early 1800s. Fittingly, Bursa blends the past and the present by juxtaposing historical architecture and modern design. Here, glass, concrete, wood, and brick are used to unify disparate elements, presenting balanced, clean-lined forms that adhere foremost to function.

Interior design Balbek Bureau

Vintage furniture from across Europe abounds, while new custom-made pieces and lighting were crafted by local artisans.

The hotel embraces a minimalist design aesthetic, adhering to a Bauhaus style and a “less is more” mindset that runs throughout. Here, one finds simple shapes and forms that are playfully offset by color, texture, and light. Inspirations from the masters of avant-garde architecture and materials produced in Ukraine are counterbalanced by handmade tiles from Portugal in the hotel bar.

Food & Drink Absoultely Supra

A neo-bistro and neighborhood gathering place, Supra is about delicious surprises not a stuffy setting.

With its chic, almost-industrial setting, the first-floor restaurant presents an inspiring tableau, one that is rivaled by the eatery’s unpretentious delights. Here, wholesome and thoughtful dishes are augmented by a wide selection of natural wines. The hotel’s 1818, meanwhile, is a minimalistic bar with stunning views over Podil. Rumors of wild dance parties taking place here on Friday and Saturday nights are true!

Food & Drink Cocktail bar

Bursa Bar is a Japanese-inspired cocktail haven, where warm wood tones and soft lighting fuse with laid-back service and thoughtfully curated music evenings.

Art in Focus The art of film

Bursa’s Kino42 is a gathering spot for film lovers who come to watch, discuss, and celebrate the artform.

Art in Focus Show space

The hotel created its own art gallery, a multidisciplinary space that promotes artistic and cultural initiatives in Ukraine.

Supporting young and emerging artists from Ukraine and other post-Soviet countries, Bursa Gallery is a cornerstone of the hotel’s creative mindset. Its mission includes supporting artists and projects that experiment in traditional arts or work with contemporary media, while its purpose—successfully achieved—is to be a meeting point for a new generation of Ukrainian artists and their audiences.
