Architecture Peter Pichler Architecture
Though the hotel’s architectural style is far from the predictable Alpine lodge, its sculptured, cubic, and almost skeletal white-framed façade is entirely at home here, evoking the snowcapped geology of the Dolomites while respecting local context and the surroundings. It even plays with the area’s architectural vernacular by incorporating such elements as the typical sloped roof.
Interior design Pichler Architecture and Martin Schgaguler
The interiors are inspired by the simplicity of mountain life, characterized by Loden fabrics, Merino wool blankets, and rich tones set against smooth resin flooring, bespoke chestnut carpentry, and designer furnishings that add an elegance through form. Large-format photographs by Martin Schgaguler capture that phenomenon of “becoming one with nature/loss of self” common to Alpinists.

The young Milan-based architect has many prestigious projects under his belt, not to mention the bold projects he’s taken on under his own firm, Peter Pichler Architecture, including Schgaguler Hotel.
