Architecture History reborn
Housed in a historical building once on the verge of demolition, the hotel presents the city’s classic architectural look, defined by beautiful wooden balconies, old woodwork, and inviting terraces. The structure was rebuilt to preserve the lineage and style of Georgian architecture, with ancient doors and original elements brought back to their former luster. A chimney discovered in the basement is now used to store local Georgian wines that come from the hotel owner’s vineyard in Kakheti.
Interior design Ani Abashidze
Tones of burnt orange, muted reds, and dark grays, as well as wooden floors and patterned wallpaper, play off hand-painted works by renowned local artist Musya Qeburia. Local textiles are used for curtains and counterbalance ancient, handmade rugs and carpets. The furniture throughout is custom made with a gentle mix of Asian and European styles, while a blend of traditional Georgian and modern design elements abound.
