PETER LUTE
&
MARCEL WANDERS

Dutch star designer Marcel Wanders is design world’s enfant terrible, all grown up. Back in the mid-90s he first gained major accolades when his "knotted chair" landed in the MoMA design collection. Raised in rural Holland, Peter Lute is one of the Netherlands’ most acclaimed chefs with the successful Lute Restaurant, on the Amstel River just outside Amsterdam. It’s there that the two met and clicked nearly immediately, beginning their collaboration on the adjacent, wildly innovative Lute Suites. More such properties are planned for the future.

MEET MARCEL & PETER

When designer Marcel Wanders and chef Peter Lute get together, smiles spread, backs are patted and a warm-hearted vibe surrounds anyone who’s near them. But something more than friendship exists here: these two are kindred spirits who share not only an innate drive to innovate, as well as an honesty that’s becoming ever rarer in today’s world. This honesty is reflected in Lute, Peter’s acclaimed restaurant, and their common creation, Lute Suites. This dream team’s process of putting together ingredients in brand-new ways is as original as it gets. “It’s all about the same thing,” says Lute. “If you’re a designer or architect or a chef or a painter. We all have different material to work with, but it’s about how you look at things.
