The Hadahaa island belongs to the North Huvadhoo Atoll (Gaafu Alifu), an administrative district of the Maldives.
MORE
The district is part of the Huvadhu Atoll, one of the largest atolls in the world. This part of the Maldives is unique due to its relative isolation from the local powerhouse, Malé, and tourism is restricted to special areas, although independent travellers may ask for a special permit enabling them to move freely. The Huvadhu Atoll has many archaeological remains, mostly Buddhist stupas in ruins, and many of these remains have not been thoroughly studied yet. However, the main attraction of the region is the natural beauty of these gems in the Indian Ocean.
